October 19th, 2018 ~Doors Open at 7pm, Show Starts at 8pm~Three Bands for $10!!!
Comprised of bassist Kris Pandierada, drummer Andrew Fasken and Guitarist/Vocalist Marko Woloshyn, Toronto’s Bike Thiefs absorb music as quickly as one would expect from a group of millennial audiophiles. Pandeirada cut his teeth writing hiphop beats in his basement, Woloshyn holed up in his room wringing the ink out of Elliott Smith sheet music and Fasken immersed himself in the world of 2000s post-punk, booking shows and playing in a handful of hardcore bands.
Bike Thiefs are a chatty post-punk band that have drawn comparisons to rock stalwarts Fugazi and Constantines as well as more contemporary acts like Parquet Courts and METZ. The band has been featured in national publications such as Exclaim!, New Noise Magazine and Impose Magazine, who called the band “different from anything you’ve probably ever heard.” Over the past two years Bike Thiefs have toured across Canada and The United States and have opened for several national acts including Moneen, The Dirty Nil and Duchess Says. The band’s latest release, Lean Into It, was recorded with Josh Korody (The Dirty Nil, Weaves) at Toronto’s Candle Recording.
Lean Into It is communal music. The white knuckle rhythm section leaves enough room for Woloshyn’s exuberant vocals and guitar feedback without letting him trip over his own jokes. On Lean Into It, the band has shied away from throat tearing vocals and hair flipping riffs in exchange for matter of fact speak-sing vocals and hypnotic drums, making for a band that would much rather be sincere than intense.

The 10 song album was listed as one of the top 10 Edmonton records of 2014 by Gigcity.ca, and served as a benchmark contribution to the band receiving a $10,000.00 grant through Alberta Foundation for the Arts to be used for the recording of their second full length record. The album ‘Cherish’ is completed and now available worldwide.

What kind of music does Little Miss Higgins play? Check out this Music Video! https://youtu.be/HdOpyXibvf0
From the Great Northern Plains of Western Canada, Little Miss Higgins struts and serenades her way, guitar in hand, lips blazoned red, onto any stage. As if she just drove in off the back-road of another time with gravel dust and a sunset trailing behind her, this pocket-sized powerhouse plays music brewed up in old-time country blues sprinkled with a little jazz and maybe a hint of folk. Whether it’s songs about passion or songs about panties, she writes about real things in a rooted and poetic way. This is all too true on her most recent award winning album, Across The Plains (2010).

King of Foxes offers up something of value: a musical divining rod that pulls the listener to an inner river that is at once both familiar and uncanny. Delivered in a voice that is equal parts fierce and fragile, frontwoman Olivia Street’s lyrics are poetic and evocative.
Grace, Jesse, and Quintin are CASATI, a Winnipeg folk trio whose music is a unique balances sincere, honest lyrics and musical inventiveness. CASATI brings their music to life with lush three part harmonies and rich textures created with ukulele, guitar, double bass and sometimes a hurdy-gurdy and autoharp. Their debut album There Will Be Days is comprised of ten original songs about love found or lost, cautionary tales of time slipping away, and a whimsical tune about bicycle rides.
